Since 1988 Clive has been the Managing Director and controlling shareholder of Abbeygate Developments Ltd, a private property development and investment company based in Milton Keynes with an extensive track record of successful developments.  He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a past member of its General Council and former president of its Planning and Development division.  Other property interests include being a planning committee member of the British Property Federation and RICS Planning Policy Panel.  He is the current Chair of the SEMLEP Property Development Investment and Infrastructure Delivery Group, Inward Investment Delivery Group and Planners Forum.

In his spare time, he is a keen cyclist and Chair and Vice-Chair of the Milton Keynes Cycling Association and Team Milton Keynes Cycling Club respectively.
