The company also provides support to around 100,000 additional Entrepreneurs a year with their subsequent business needs following the registering of their own company with Companies House. Alongside being the founder and CEO of Business Data Group, Richard is also a coach and mentor for young people with learning difficulties and works to inspire disengaged youth in and around Northamptonshire. After growing up having spent some time under the protection of a women’s hostel with his mother, other times homeless or spending times in derelict squats, Richard eventually found a way to challenge his energies into business. He started his first “proper” business in 1999 and has since that time grown and sold a handful of technology and social media companies.
Richard holds a small number of non-executive roles in business support or technology organisations, is a governor on a special needs education trust and supports the Careers & Enterprise Company with their SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) agenda. His passion for supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities comes from his experience of being a father of an autistic son, and the passion to support young people at risk of falling from society and education stems from his own childhood where he could have so easily fallen into a life of drugs and crime.
